Last month, we had a fantastic group of Australian Skålleagues travel to Sri Lanka for the Skål Asia Area Congress. While I was personally disappointed to miss the trip (though for a very good reason) it’s been wonderful to see the smiling faces and fantastic photos from the event. By all accounts it was a very successful Congress and I thank those members who represented Skål Australia with such pride and spirit! Macau will host the Skål Asia Area Congress in 2026, June 12-14, so save the date!
Now, let’s talk Adelaide! Our 112th Skål Australia National Assembly is fast approaching! If you haven’t registered yet, what are you waiting for? With easy flight access, great fares, and an incredible program planned, this is the perfect opportunity to reconnect, network, and experience the best of Skål. We know life gets busy, but your early registration helps us in planning an unforgettable event. The full program will land in your inbox via our August newsletter - but in the meantime, please register now and secure your place in what promises to be a memorable National Assembly!
Looking further ahead, the Skål World Congress in Cusco, Peru is just two months away! We’re calling on all clubs planning to send a delegate to register as soon as possible. Cusco is a truly magical destination - rich in culture, history, and spectacular landscapes - and this year’s congress is extra special as we rally behind our very own World President, Denise Scrafton. Australia is renowned for its strong presence and support at international congresses, often sending some of the largest and most enthusiastic delegations and we hope our clubs will continue this proud tradition by getting behind Cusco, Peru. And if you’re travelling to Peru, don’t forget to order your Skål Australia polo by July 31—details are in the newsletter.
The Skål International Training Committee webpage is now live! It’s packed with engaging resources including a Knowledge and Quiz Centre, podcast series, and other interactive content. Whether you’re new to Skål or a seasoned member, I highly encourage you to explore this brilliant initiative designed to educate, connect, and grow our Skål community.
Finally, you’ll have seen the Skål International Member Survey land in your inbox recently. This is your chance to have your say and help shape the future of our global organisation. As Skål continues to grow and adapt, the voices of its members are more important than ever. This survey gives you the chance to share honest feedback about what's working, what could improve , and where we want Skål to head in the years to come. It's an opportunity to be part of shaping meaningful change from the ground up. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey by 3rd August - your input will help guide important decisions and ensure Skål continues to stay relevant and valuable to members worldwide. Let's show our support for World President Denise and the Executive Board by making sure the views of Skål Australia are well represented.
